I am Chamara Fernando – Present Deputy Mayor of Negombo Municipal Council.
I was born and bred in Negombo. I have enjoyed every moment of my school days at Maris Stella College, Negombo.
I would like to thank my family, the people of Kudapaduwa and Periyamulla for their continuous support and encouragement offered to me.
My twenty-four years of experience with Qatar Airways has created many opportunities to spearhead my leadership and management skills. Those skills will be utilized to the fullest extent while reforming Negombo.
Negombo is popular for fisheries industry and Tourism. Also, Negombo is popular as a trade hub. However, due to poor leadership and mismanagement of resources the development of Negombo has become very sluggish.
As the Municipal Council of Negombo, it is our ambition and duty to make Negombo a family-friendly, well-disciplined and healthy living place. We are fully committed to establish good governance and to reinstate well deserved glory and prosperity of Negombo.
